About the Show

A recent recipient of the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Letters' Richard Rodgers Production Award, The Spitfire Grill tells the story of Percy, a young girl recently released from prison, who has chosen to serve her parole in a rural village in Western Wisconsin. She finds work at the local diner, the Spitfire Grill, owned by the tough-skinned Hannah who’s been trying to sell it for years with no luck. Percy suggests a raffle, with an entry fee of one hundred dollars and the best essay on why you want the grill wins. Soon, mail is arriving by the wheelbarrow-full and things are definitely cookin' at the Spitfire Grill.
